The benefits are pretty good. Compensation is satisfactory.
No work-life balance. It would make you multitask on several things, which would distract you from doing the current task at hand. Some teams have managers who prefer constant adulation and buttering up from subordinates.
Please give proper training to technical managers on how to handle managerial roles.
