Pros

Good work/life balance is definitely achievable, at least where I was.

Working with great people who care about a quality product.

Moved from matrix-style managers to direct-report managers.

Lots of interesting problems to solve.

Cons
  • Work culture has taken a big hit recently with various layoffs and lawsuits.
  • Has grown into somewhat of a monolithic software company that moves slowly internally. Also, a lot of the internal tools and processes are outdated or unrefined.
  • The communication and collaboration between different teams is abysmal.
  • Benefits package is getting worse every year.
Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees and try to become a faster, more agile company.

Try to understand what your employees actually do day to day and listen to their suggestions.

Stop taking outrageous bonuses yourself while laying off hundreds of people.
