Your manager must like you. The place has become bureaucratic and political. You need to impress the right people, otherwise, you are doomed. Many people who are rich because of stocks are lazy and don't do anything. It really depends on the lead and director. Information sharing within teams can become a problem. Promotions are sometimes not fair.
