Upper management lacks vision. There is too much emphasis on numbers but not on the quality of testing. Benefits are not good since the company is going through a realignment. There are too many people doing middle management and tracking. You could just end up executing test cases with no real value addition to your skills.
Revamp the test teams.
Place emphasis on quality of testing rather than just worrying about reporting numbers.
Improve the pay scale.
