- Good dev tooling, including a standardized AI platform and MCP servers
Frequent maintenance projects with high tech debt; performance reviews with hard % quotas on Misses, Meets, and Exceeds; obligatory on-call; and lots of turbulence as C-suite executives who have largely been replaced in recent months.
Stop lowering the hiring bar. Many formerly hired engineers were ex-FAANG, but now it is less frequent.
