A Rakuten recruiter reached out to me with this opportunity. He scheduled a general phone screening with me, which was totally based on my status, previous employment, etc.
After one week, he informed me that the Front End Architect wanted to have a technical round with me. He was a pretty cool interviewer with lots and lots of front-end knowledge. He basically gave me an online coding assessment and 20 minutes to complete it.
After that, he discussed my approach to the solution and asked me several CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript questions. It lasted for 45 minutes, and then he told me he would pass my feedback to the hiring manager.
After one week, the recruiter came with the 'sad' news.
He opened a webpage with a list of elements and told me to write a JavaScript code on the console of my web browser to highlight alternate elements of the
CSS questions of layout, position, etc.
