Process

I was invited to the company. The infra looked good, and the HR seemed helpful.

I started with my first round. The interviewer seemed impatient, as if he had to be somewhere else.

He started by giving me a problem, and as I was discussing the solution, he interrupted and said, "You have 5 minutes to code this problem."

I couldn't code it in the most optimized solution, so he commented that it was such an easy problem. I rolled my eyes so hard.

Then he started asking me questions on Spring and core Java that seemed fine.

What irritated me was when he started asking me about the time complexity of sorting algorithms, and was asking me time complexity in the worst case and best case. The worst part was he was expecting answers in 30 seconds.

Thanks, but no thanks, I'd rather not answer this.

He asked me a tough problem and then told me 15 minutes to code with all edge cases. Then, he kept checking his watch every 2 minutes.

He asked me 3 programming questions and 25 theory Java questions in 1 hour, which felt like 2 hours. No kidding!

I read such horrible reviews about Rakuten and its interview process; I never thought it was going to be this bad. They want people who can mug up GeeksforGeeks, not developers.
