Interview Review for Software Engineer – Potential Ghost Job Posting

I recently applied for the Software Engineer position at Rakuten and wanted to share my experience to help other job seekers.

Despite matching over 80% of the job description in terms of skills, qualifications, and experience, I was not even shortlisted.

Instead, I received a generic rejection email with no feedback or reasoning to help me understand why I wasn’t considered.

This lack of transparency raises concerns about whether the job posting was genuine or if it was simply a ghost job.

If companies are actively hiring, one would expect some level of screening and meaningful feedback for well-qualified candidates.
