For those interested in relocating to Japan, there is that. Co-workers and most employees are, for the most part, nice and respectable. It's said to the point of boredom now, but the free meals are nice. Be forewarned, however: breakfast and dinner are after typical work hours.
Several managers are not the best, and many aren’t even qualified for leading people, let alone a team. Salary is atrocious, and monetary compensation is very weak for the type of company and industry. There is little opportunity to grow career-wise (i.e., senior engineer here with years of project management experience and management), and it is not easy to move. High turnover. HR responses to any issues are very poor with respect to time; often, one needs to ask again and again.
Enough with the Monday meetings. They offer little value.
Start paying appropriately for talented staff.
