Recruiter Screen - was fine. I liked the recruiter; he was helpful, seemed genuinely invested in my success, and prepared me for my upcoming interview.
Take Home - The stated time commitment is 2-3 hours, but it realistically takes 3-4 times that, depending on how deep you go. It's also far too open-ended regarding implementation, suggesting an inability to calibrate interviewer expectations on skill level.
Tech Screen - The core question was a LeetCode medium, but with many extra features and a UI component. The interviewer was not very helpful and seemed a bit narcissistic. Based on their answers to my questions and their resume, they appear to be the type focused on immediate results with little regard for long-term impact, as they'd likely move on within six months.
I question the value of a "build an app" tech screen after a take-home assignment. We didn't even discuss the take-home project. A standard LeetCode problem afterward might be understandable to assess live performance.
Take home and LeetCode medium with a ton of UI components.
