I passed the little test they have you take. The recruiter reached out to me afterward; she was extremely nice to speak with!
Unfortunately, I received a rejection, and I suspect it was because of an extremely weird question she was forced to ask me, with what felt like a gun to her head.
She mentioned the CEO wanted everyone to have AI fluency and asked, "How are you with AI?" on a scale of 0 to 10.
Anyone who knows about AI beyond a surface level would ask several follow-up questions, which I did, but I was nonetheless pressed for an answer.
I stated "5" because I use it often in daily life. However, as a frontend engineer, I am not involved in actually training or implementing LLMs or other kinds of models.
I strongly suspect this number is what disqualified me. Between you and I, the reader, can you think of a redder flag?
Condolences to the recruiter and anyone currently employed at Ramp.
On a scale of 0-10, how are you with AI?
