The HR team at Razorpay seemed to really mess up with the interviews for the profile of Frontend Developer.
Upon applying, I first received a test link. After clearing it, I received another email from HR regarding interview scheduling. I responded with a pretty flexible time to schedule, and they replied that the profile was closed.
Two weeks later, they tried to revive the interview process again and finally scheduled an interview.
The interviewer was a noob; I bet it was his first-ever interview. The interview began with introductions, and he asked me a couple of questions regarding my projects and exposure to tools and frameworks.
Fifteen minutes into the interview, he asked me a question regarding my experience and stuff. As soon as I started to answer, he stopped me in between. I hadn't even said two words to answer his question, and he told me to stop!
He said, "It's already way late; we should move to technical questions." I mean, he didn't realize that it was late when he was asking me the question.
Later, in the technical interview, he gave me a problem around closures and asked me to guess the output. I didn't answer that correctly, but in an instant, I realized the mistake and told him the correct answer with an explanation. He asked me to further change the code in a way to print the desired input. I changed it in a fraction of a second. He asked me to change it in a different way, and I told him a different way that the code could be changed. He asked me for more ways. I thought and passed.
He threw another question, a var and let based question. Here, I correctly told him the output and also fixed the code. He again asked me another way.
Now, the last question! The most frustrating one. It was an object-flattening question. I could have done that if that far-from-any-knowledge-of-JavaScript guy would not have hinted me every 20 seconds to look for a mistake on a line where there was no mistake. He kept telling me every minute, "You have 1 minute left. Do it fast!!!!"
I mean, let's have another interview, Razorpay. This wasn't the rejection I deserved from such a noob guy.
