The 30-minute phone call was okay. The interviewer seemed to be rooting for me and was pleased to move me onto the next round. But the on-site didn't go well. One interviewer, a bit junior, kept asking me really intricate questions that I just didn't have any answers for. These questions were more intricate than the standard behavioral ones. And even if you answered one, it had more follow-up questions with tons of assumptions. All the questions had heavy assumptions (e.g., assuming there was a time that I criticized a colleague, which I have never done. I don't like to talk badly about people).

Finally, what irked me and made it really negative (instead of just stressful) was how hostile they became when they saw the interview wasn't humming along. The manager was putting pens in her mouth, acting like she was zoning out, and another interviewer started making personal comments about my life that he heard from the recruiter. It wasn't even a question; he just made a snide comment, followed by deadpan silence, followed by me remarking about it the best I could for a professional interview, followed by more deadpan silence. It was a really bizarre interview.
