Engineering Manager Interview Experience - Netherlands
Process
I had a first interview with an internal talent coordinator about this position. I was told what a great fit I was for the role and that they wanted to put me in front of the hiring manager. They said they would get back to me within a day about scheduling and that I should get in touch if I didn't hear back then.
Three days later, I sent an email asking if they needed any additional information from me and expressing my excitement about moving forward in the process. I also stated I would be happy to set up a time to talk.
Four days later, I received a four-sentence form letter stating they were not interested.
These are not serious people.

There's a real lack of accountability for leaders, and for them growing or leveling up their teams. Every meeting, all the way up to exec, seems to be run by "Top 3 things I was asked about this week." This leads to a culture of promotions for friends or buddies, often Director+ taking credit for their teams' work and getting promoted, but not promoting their teams. It seems like leadership is too full of people hiding from accountability, and they're all doing it together. We had a famous email where leaders just circle-congratulated each other.
