Process

  1. Hiring Manager reached out to discuss the role and my current personal career path.
  2. Take-home project (2-3 hours).

Recruiter stepped in to schedule the interviews; however, other than meeting setup, all communication, including the rejection, was from the Hiring Manager.

  1. 5-panel interview:
  • Meet with a Tech Lead to solve a bug.
  • Meet with QA and shadow, then solve a brain puzzle demonstrating presentation and communication skills.
  • Meet with a Product Manager and a dev on the team to discuss behaviorals.
  • Meet with two Software Devs to solve an OOP code design problem (e.g., parking garage, card game, elevator).
  • Meet with the Hiring Manager again to discuss behaviorals.

The entire process was very laid-back, except when the engineers during the OOP code design heightened the tone to serious, changing the general mood of the meeting.

Five panels seemed a bit much, but I personally enjoyed meeting everyone, as you are interviewing them as well. I was given feedback with the rejection and will use it to interview again in the future.
