Process

I applied online and heard back from a recruiter. We then set up a call to discuss the role and interview process.

All of the interview rounds had a bit of behavioral mixed in. Each round was 45 minutes long.

I had my first interview with a hiring manager. I was asked a LeetCode Medium problem. I passed this round and moved on to the final onsite (virtual) interviews.

  • First Round: Designing a Tetris game. This was a design-focused round where I coded up the game, its different classes, and how everything worked together. I did not need to compile my code; they just wanted to see how I would design and implement (pseudocode) the game.
  • Second Round: I was asked an easy-ish algorithm question about finding the most common numbers in a data stream.

(45-minute break halfway through)

  • Third Round: I was asked a medium-level algorithm question related to finding the top K frequent elements and the top K sum of two arrays.
  • Fourth Round: I was asked a medium-level 2D grid question, which was not really related to algorithms.
