A recruiter reached out via LinkedIn. I was fast-tracked to an interview with the reporting head and team members for a tech and culture fit. My current salary was discussed beforehand, and they proceeded with interviews.
They then set up a meeting about salary expectations and extended an offer that was half of my current salary. I politely informed them to improve it, not necessarily asking them to match it, and stated I would consider it.
They then came back telling me they had decided to hire internally, as the salary expectations were way out of range.
