Manufacturing Engineer Interview Experience - Normal, Illinois

Process

The first call was a screen with a recruiter. The second was a 45-minute technical interview with an engineer. I later discovered he had a PhD.

The interview was difficult from a metallurgy, material science, and welding engineering perspective, far more so than at Tesla, in my opinion.

However, as long as you understand the mechanisms, you should be fine. I personally enjoyed finally talking with someone who understood what I was saying.

Questions

Can you explain the mechanism of centerline cracking in the GTAW weld you described earlier?

Do we have to worry about liquation in thicker parts or thinner parts more?

Explain your previous experience. What projects did you work on?
