I went through the initial phone screening process. At the beginning, everything was going smoothly. It took a downhill fall when I was asked about salary expectations. I gave them a figure based on my research for the Palo Alto, CA location.
Then the recruiter informed me that this position is based in Normal, IL, and is a Level I position. I asked for clarification and received a vague response.
Also, when I asked about work-life balance, they told me straight away that there is no work-life balance; you will be working 10-12 hours a day and also on weekends. They compensate you by giving unlimited paid time off (there must be a catch to this).
During the whole process, the interviewer kept bragging about Rivian. They asked me one technical question, about my work history, and why I want to leave my current job.
It felt like the interview was rushed.
Tell me about your current work experience.
Why do you want to join Rivian?
Why are you leaving your current position?
What will be your considerations on work cell design in a moving line?
