The HR representative was very unprofessional. They didn't show up for the first conference. I needed to reach out again to schedule a second meeting, and they called an hour late.
We scheduled a phone screen with another representative who could barely speak English. I tried to explain my solution first, but they didn't seem interested and told me to code right away, stating that speaking wasn't necessary (what?!).
I proceeded and coded a working solution that passed all test cases on time. They didn't speak a word during that time.
Questions
Write a method that converts a numeric string to a numeric value.
Cannot use any built-in conversion functions except for single characters. For example, "-123.44E-2" would be a valid input.
