The process took almost 4 months.
Initially, I was referred and contacted by a recruiter. After an introduction call, I had a call with a Principal Engineer. This conversation was solely about the position, and he asked several questions without any coding. After one month (at that time, I thought they had just ghosted me), my referral helped and pinged the recruiter. The recruiter got back to me and initiated a new interview via Zoom. This time, I spoke with a VP and was asked to code simple things, along with more questions.
After two weeks, the recruiter got back to me and wanted to schedule more calls with him. He also cancelled a call last minute and rescheduled. During that rescheduled call, he said the hiring team was unsure and asked for one more screening interview. At the last screening interview, I was asked to code, but it was more of a system design interview.
I have a feeling that during the interview process, they aren't actually hiring. They delay as much as they can. The recruiter copy-pasted the job description multiple times with mistakes, delaying the process and wasting my time talking with him multiple times. So, I felt he was just wasting company time for a high payment to pitch the hiring process to management.
From the pros, I was able to speak with great engineers; however, I don't really have feedback from them.
Job-related questions, no LeetCode.
