Roblox

My time interning at Roblox on the avatar team was fulfilling. The people I met, both on my team and off, were all friendly and helpful as I was learning the ropes. We would often grab lunch together in the cafeteria and talk about either the company or the latest anime we were watching. Among those people was my manager, who was super responsive and helpful.

The company and its product are over 10 years old. Through many iterations of development, the codebase has become large and complex, but it is not well documented. It took about 5 weeks for me to build a decent mental model of the area of code I was working on, and it required constantly asking many, many questions of people who have already gone through the same thing.
