The 45-minute tech interview was virtual and smooth.

It began with an easy coding problem, followed by a few related problems. The interviewer provided hints when I made mistakes or got stuck.

1. Given two strings, s1 and s2, return true if they are equal, otherwise false. Assume you can have a wildcard in s1 denoted by a '.'.

   • Ex. "ro.t" and "rokt" return true.
   • Ex. "r.t" and "rokt" return false.

2. Instead of a period, there is a one-digit number (1-9) denoting how many wildcard characters there are.

   • Ex. "r2t" and "rokt" return true.
   • Ex. "r2k" and "rokt" return false.

3. The number is not limited to one digit. The number can be multiple digits.

   • Ex. "r12t" and "rokt" return false.
