They were interviewing in parallel for the same position. It's very unprofessional to discontinue the process without sharing feedback and with an absence of transparency.

Cons: - Late US working hours.
- US engineers treat Indian engineers like second-grade workers.
- No appraisals (yes, you read that right; there are no yearly appraisals or bonuses, and they hide it while hiring you).
- No promotions (again, they hide this during interviews).
- No appraisals + No promotions + Maintenance Projects = No growth.
- If some project gains traction, there's a good chance that the US will take over.

Pros: Engineer-style company, very skilled at squeezing vendors. The vendors working with Roku have it tough.
Cons: I think most engineers at Roku have a passion for coding.
We spend a lot of time reinventing the wheel—Roku’s IPC, LMK, and so on.
Because I prefer open-source solutions, sometimes I wonder: Are these engineers’ designs really as battle-tested as open-source projects that have gone through countless iterations?
Do they truly understand these systems, or are they just trying to earn some credit in front of their managers?
