Pros

Did not find anything good. Bad junk is available so Roku can get a tax break and employees can grow fat and sick.

Cons

Roku has the worst management politics of any company. Directors are rude; they shout and bang on tables in meetings, and leave meetings abruptly with doors slamming. These managers are respected, encouraged, and promoted to director and above levels.

The hiring team basically makes all efforts through fake storytelling to lure you from your current job ASAP by offering an attractive salary. You jeopardize your current job and join Roku. After joining, there is no new hire project or task allocation. Program managers and cross-disciplinary directors will become your manager. Priorities and task deliveries will never be clear. Managers have no interest in managing their day-to-day activities.

If you want to discuss your problems with your manager, you are encouraged to not respond to cross-functional team's emails or inquiries. Your manager expects you to make your group's problems or your tasks turn into other teams' issues. You will be resource-deprived and reprimanded for any escalation that comes to your manager. Upper management and HR have biased opinions. It's a very toxic work environment.

There is no further technical skills development. Every day, you'd be fighting this dirty political culture versus spending time on enhancing your technical skills or career growth. I would recommend a job at Roku only to those who are not finding jobs anywhere else.
