I chatted with another DevOps architect who passed me on to another round. I was asked to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the second round, focusing on CI/CD pipelines with some basic criteria for its inclusion.
Despite being open with the recruiter and the first-round interviewer about my lack of Salesforce-specific experience, everyone in the second-round interview seemed confused. One individual, in particular, seemed to take delight in heckling my presentation. In retrospect, I should have ended the interview early.
His attempted "coup de grâce" was asking me the difference between REST and SOAP. He did not have the courtesy to be on camera, so I could not see his reaction, however, he was audibly disturbed and upset when I answered the question correctly. It was truly a bizarre interview, which served to lower my respect for Salesforce as a company.
Also, after the heckling I endured during the second interview, I was summarily ghosted by the recruiter. A pretty awful process overall.
What is the difference between REST and SOAP?
