Process

A Salesforce recruiter matched me to the position. They set up a one-hour Google Hangout with a responsible member of the specific team. This was before they did a phone screen. The recruiter (an awesome person) called before the hangout to prep me and ask some questions. The person did not show up for the hangout. We rescheduled for later in the day, and then had an awesome time together. The person I interviewed with seemed extremely happy to recommend me to the next level and even told me to expect to hear back from the recruiter about next steps and moving forward. It really seemed like this person wanted me on their team.

The next day, after following up, I received a one-line email about how the person passed for a stronger candidate.

I will say it was a positive experience, but would recommend to hiring managers to have more of a poker face and not indicate that someone is going to the next step unless you are sure you are going to recommend them.
