The process was long but thorough. I enjoyed it because the people I interviewed with were very intelligent and made me want to work there.
The architectural interviews were mostly focused on whether I was still technical or if I'd completely lost touch with what's going on on the front line. There were questions about testing, testing boundaries, testing ideology, and practices.
Questions also concerned architecture for designing a single system to manage all the elevators in the city. It was very open-ended, and I enjoyed brainstorming around the concept.
Management questions focused on past experience with handling, planning, and prioritizing work, encouraging staff, and coaching. We discussed major overhauls of systems into new systems, as well as how to grow a current feature into its next phase and how to plan that out.
