I interviewed with the GCP Cloud team at Salesforce. The process was extremely lengthy, taking over 2.5 months to complete. The HR department seemed extremely inefficient and incompetent. After every round, I had to repeatedly ask for feedback. In the end, the entire decision and outcome were extremely opaque. The worst part is they don't decide based on your feedback over all six rounds. Because the process is split over months, they simply take the review from your last two interviews to judge. This is foolishly short-sighted.
Simply because it's an employer's market, the recruiters are acting like gods and treating potential employees worse than slaves. They expect free investment of so much time without any commitment.
Avoid at all costs.
The coding question in the in-person onsite interview was framed like a system design question: Design a data store for a client to store string data. When I asked clarifying questions, the responses were extremely vague. They told me to just assume the client wants to store string data and has no idea about the specifics, whether it is structured, blob, or key-value.
