I first had a conversation with the hiring manager. Then, I was asked to spend two hours completing an online test.
The problem in the online test was an average algorithm problem, but it was not correctly configured in HackerRank. When I hit the "run" button, the code didn't run due to missing configurations in maven.xml. I had to search online to correct maven.xml.
Then, I manually checked the output from the main function. It seemed correct; however, my code could not pass JUnit tests. The unit tests didn't show my output or the expected output, so I couldn't debug it.
When I complained to the recruiter about the online test, I just received a rejection email.
Salesforce doesn't seem to respect a candidate's time commitments. In the past six months, I've onsite-interviewed with companies like LinkedIn, Dropbox, Lyft, and Databricks, and received job offers from Facebook, VMware, and PayPal. No other companies have disrespected candidates like Salesforce.
