Process

I submitted my resume at a career fair in October. At the end of November, I received an email asking for my availability.

My first interview was in December. It was a one-hour phone interview where I was asked about the basics of:

  • Relational databases (including some queries)
  • Distributed systems
  • Java (overloading and overriding, anonymous classes, static fields, etc.)
  • Web services (HTTP, RPC, XML, etc.)

It went well. Fifteen days later, I received an email stating I had cleared the first round.

The next round was with managers. They asked about the basics of cloud computing and Java, then about parameterized queries, cross-platform scripting, and more. I wasn't very confident about this round.

After another 15 days, I received an email that made my day: I got through to Salesforce.com :)
