"Ohana" lasts as long as you're profitable, and even then

Pros

Nice people to work with (generally).

Cons

Benefits lag behind the industry.

Pay lags behind the industry.

Required "Corp Messaging" is an exercise in Kool-Aid drinking.

Senior leadership has no clue what they are doing and redirects resources to "trendy" ideas with little to no understanding of the market's actual desire for tech, let alone how to actually produce a useful/functional product.

Advice to Management

Do better. Benioff says "Ohana" like he means it. He should either stop that, or you all should figure out how to not actively kick people when they're down. Firing/laying off folks on bereavement is completely unacceptable.
