Pros

Great benefits and compensation. The ESPP plan is great. "Golden handcuffs"

Cons

I worked for a company that was acquired by SF and witnessed it slowly being digested. We had a lot of potential and, due to some awful decisions by management, it is down to less than a skeleton crew to keep the lights on and fix P1 issues. Management decided to lay off all of our QE staff at one point, even though they were the people who knew the most about how our product was supposed to work. There was poor planning on how to integrate with vaguely related sub-companies, and, at the end, zero road map at all for my team. The frustrations in the unicorn project resonated pretty heavily with me.

Advice to Management

Don't give managers with the worst 360 reviews in the company 15-person teams. What the f***?

Also, make sure managers have roadmaps for their teams. For years, it felt like we were operating as though we would be all laid off in two months. We weren't allowed to invest time in improving anything.

The only thing keeping people there is the money; it sure isn't the culture. Lots of people are concerned for their jobs but sticking around because the pay can't be beat. No thanks.
