Staff Engineer Interview Experience - Seoul, South Korea

Process

After my PhD, I had an interview with Samsung Research. The interview consisted of two phases:

  1. Technical Interview: This phase involved 3-5 minute presentations about my career and/or research works. These presentations should be prepared by the interviewee and were followed by relevant questions. For research departments, it's better to emphasize the impact of your research (citations, high-profile journals/conferences).

  2. Behavioral Interview: The question I had to answer was whether I thought I was better than one of my previous co-workers, and if so, the corresponding reasons.

Questions

For the technical interview, questions regarding technical details on my research work that I presented to the interviewers.

For the behavioral interview, questions on whether I think I am better than one of my previous co-workers and, if so, the corresponding reasons.
