Pros

Stable, good cash reserve with the company. Get discounts with Samsung-run institutes (most of Korea is run by Samsung).

Cons

Bad work culture; one needs to be a slave.

Sit in the office until your manager leaves, which most days will be midnight.

Do it even if the work is not in your area.

Never speak against your manager; they can make your life a mess.

Sit in all meetings, though you will never hear a word in English unless there is something you need to work on.

No knowledge sharing.

Just keep working day and night.

No trust in employees.

HR is the worst; they take action against you if you speak against your manager.

Advice to Management

Middle managers are not gods; they can make mistakes. Don't make them dons.

I was a forging employee in Korea, and I felt that though upper management encouraged a multicultural environment, middle management and HR were the worst. Action was taken against me if I spoke against my manager.
