Pros: - Flex hours (I work 7-3 most days)
- Best tools for the stuff we work on
- Challenging work
- Good management
- Reasonable expectations
- Friendly people
- Competitive compensation
Cons: Politics slow down movement.
Lots of tiered management.
They send people managers to technical conferences and training courses with the intent that they return and teach the technical staff, which rarely works well.
Just a job to most developers (this isn't necessarily a bad thing for most; I'm a passionate person who thinks about the stuff we are building all the time and find it a bit demotivating when none of my colleagues want to talk about it).
