Application:
I applied through the university in June 2018. The process took 2 days and consisted of 3 rounds:
Interview:
Firstly, the telephonic round (40-60 minutes) took place. The interviewer began with OOPs concepts in Java, using real-life examples. Then, they asked about private, public, and static classes, how to access private methods, and what a singleton class is. Following that, the discussion moved to RDBMS, covering ACID properties, data storage methods, DDL, DML, DCL & TCL, serializability, and many other basic RDBMS questions.
After clearing the telephonic interview, I was called for an interview at SAP LABS, Gurugram. Usually, two technical rounds are conducted, but fortunately, there was only one. The interview lasted for an hour. It also began with OOPs concepts in Java, with real-life examples. Then, questions about OS (synchronization), data structures, and polymorphism (code) were asked. The interview concluded with a puzzle.
We were 5 students from our university, and all of us were selected for the HR round. The HR round lasted about 20-25 minutes and involved two interviewers. They discussed my resume, projects, my potential contributions at SAP, and asked basic questions about my family and hobbies.
Results were announced within a week. 3 out of the 5 students were selected, and luckily, I was one of them.
How can we maintain synchronization in an OS?
Implement a circular stack.
