Pros
  1. All of the people are very welcoming and friendly in helping you settle in and get to grips with what you need to do.

  2. Good structure and organization with all of the training required for the role, as well as how the company works as a whole.

  3. Ability to learn from heads of department about what they do, as well as the chance to meet them.

  4. Have a fairly easy two weeks in terms of workload, learning what to do and a bit of practice, without offloading as much work on to you as they can.

  5. Giving you relevant and important work. You do not go and grab coffee all day; what you do has an impact on the company.

Cons
  1. Not a great amount of time to learn alongside the team, with how the training weeks are set out.

  2. There is a large number of talks, meaning it gets quite tiring to sit and listen to them for two weeks.

Advice to Management
  1. Allow more work to be completed during the two weeks, so there is more hands-on learning.
  2. Spread the talks more throughout the two weeks or even longer, decreasing the more boring side of the onboarding.
