It is a good place to work for somebody with no big ambitions, close to pension, with strong nerves that can handle non-productive stress. If you just want a nice office until retirement, then it is a good place to work.
No big career opportunities, no compensation for initiative, no recognition for extraordinary people. If you are a robot, you fit perfectly.
Be more open to people. Try to recognize the desire for growth of individuals. Promote and encourage individual intelligence. Stop pretending that there are company rules when you don't want to fulfill somebody's desire, and give an accurate explanation of why you don't want or can't do it.
