This company has great potential for the future. If you are clearly the best in your department and have great soft/political skills, then you are set.
Too much politics and middle management fighting for power that they don't really have. It can be a western "bang bang" where everyone is only interested in self-promotion. Too much red tape.
Cut the red tape and the bureaucracy to do any kind of innovation. Process for every single thing. Reduce middle management. Get them to talk more to the employees and let them participate more in decisions.
