Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience - San Diego, California

Positive ExperienceGot Offer

Process

I applied through an employee referral.

About a month later, I received an email asking me to come in for an interview.

It was a panel interview with four people, which can be very daunting for an intern who doesn't have a lot of experience.

They started by giving me a coding test and asked me to solve it on a whiteboard. The question was nothing too difficult; it was a basic algorithm question about finding the closest locations in a list.

Afterwards, they asked me about my school and projects in depth, and basically made sure everything I put on my resume was accurate.

At the end, I asked them about their experience working at ServiceNow and what they did, and then had lunch with a few of them.

The entire interview lasted only 45 minutes.

I received an offer letter about a week later.

Questions

Given a list of coffee shops, return the three closest shops in the list.
