Pros
  • Decent work-life balance, usually until the end of the release period. This is normal for software development, where it's mostly deadline-driven.
  • Everyone gets to participate in the design phase if willing.
  • Can be performance-based, meaning your performance determines where you go on the right team.
  • Above-market-average compensation.
  • Great teams around for bouncing off ideas.
Cons
  • Technology you work with lags behind a bit because of the IT nature, seemingly.
  • Each team has its own culture.
  • No 401k matching.
  • Poor facility team/food supply.
  • Might have to deal with remote teams on projects, who can be in a different time zone often.
Advice to Management

Should stay consistent with a performance-driven culture where compensation should match more to the performance standard and not just the other way around.
