The interview process itself was pretty much as described. I went through the life story discussion and had a decent conversation with the recruiter. Everything seemed relaxed, and I believed it had gone well.

What I didn't appreciate about the entire process was being ghosted after my interview. The recruiter stated they would provide an update on the position and next steps by Friday (the following day) or Monday. Both Friday and Monday passed without any communication. After a few more days of waiting, I sent a follow-up email to inquire about the status. It has now been a few months, and no one has contacted me to inform me that I did not get the position. In my opinion, this is incredibly unprofessional.

I took time out of my day, away from my current job, to interview for a position. Regardless of whether I was the right fit, if the position changed, or if they found someone better suited for the role, Shopify should inform its potential candidates of the outcome. It is unprofessional and rude to leave someone hanging like that and deters me from ever applying for a role there again.
