Process
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks.
Not your average interview! The technical portion was not difficult, but you need to be a good storyteller. For an introvert like me, it's a bit complicated. They focus heavily on your "Life Story", so be prepared to talk extensively about your career choices and impact, not just your code.

Great culture and awesome people
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
Barcelona, Spain
June 26, 2022
Pros: - Great place to work.
- Full of kind people who won't hesitate to help you whenever you need it.
- Good salary and perks.
- Full remote.
- Burst meetings all around the world to meet your teammates.
- Unlimited vacations.
Cons: Shopify has been growing too fast, and it makes you find your way on your own, especially if you are not an expert in the company's tech stack (Ruby, GraphQL, React) and its tooling. This might be overwhelming to some people.

Only good things to say!
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee

March 21, 2022
Pros: - Trust in employees, no micromanaging.
- Autonomy to take ownership of projects and pursue things we are passionate about.
- Lots of opportunity to move forward in your career in any facet. We are supported in achieving personal goals and moving across the career jungle gym.
- Remote working is set up really well so that it feels seamless and non-isolating.
- Really nice people and culture.
Cons: If you don't like the 100% remote setup, this may not be the company for you. That being said, I was skeptical too, and I have come to find that I actually prefer 100% remote.

Best place to work in the region
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Pros: Worked at many places, this is comfortably the best work, benefits, and pay I've seen, especially when you consider the stock options.
Cons: Lots of hipsters.
Kids who think their workplace should reflect who they are and treat them like the special snowflake they are.
