The interview process, in my opinion, is long and a little unprofessional at the end.
It's going well for the first three rounds:
Each round takes a week. After the "life story" interview, the recruiter put me in contact with an onsite interview coordinator. A week later, the coordinator confirmed the scheduling of my onsite interviews for the following week, but nothing happened.
I asked for a status update via email and received a reply the next week. It stated that the teams hiring for the senior web developer position were now hiring for a more senior level position, and the hiring process for this year was finished. They mentioned they would be doing hiring planning for Q1 next year very soon and would contact me if there were future positions that fit my profile.
It is frustrating to have gone through multiple interview rounds, have my hopes raised considerably, and be getting ready for the final round, only for the position to be filled (I'm assuming) without me completing the entire interview process.
I understand that it's a busy time for the teams, but it is unprofessional to take away the opportunity from a potential candidate who cancelled other commitments and has been waiting for the final round for two weeks.
