I was contacted online through my LinkedIn profile by an HR person at Shopify.
The first interview was a short phone call where only basic questions were asked, such as what languages I spoke and if I currently had a job.
I was then booked for a first in-person interview, where I was asked about my story. There were no CV or technical questions. The interview lasted about an hour.
I was called back for another interview. This time, the interview was more technical, but the interviewer focused a lot on explaining how they work at Shopify.
I had three other similar interviews and was eventually offered a job for the position I had applied for, but not in the city where I wanted to work.
Overall, the interview process was very long, over three weeks in total.
The questions weren't very difficult. The technical ones were only in terms of how familiar I was with certain programming languages and how many years of experience I had with them. The setting was quite casual.
