Shopify has been consistently working to make pay raises and promotions harder and more complicated, while cutting down on employee benefits and perks. All the while, they brag about how great they are doing.
With stack ranking added to the mix, you are competing with your teammates, whether or not you want to.
Senior leadership is completely out of touch with ICs. The COO is the most hated person I have seen in a company. Tobi is a tyrant, calling all the shots while claiming he just wants to be an AI engineer.
