The work culture was awful. People were really not the best to work with.
It was full of people full of themselves and not the best at propagating information. Even when directly asked, it was always an air of 'look it up' instead of being helpful.
Had to intervene and escalate due an engineer being racist to another engineer.
Had my first ever need to raise my voice at work as someone was being aggressive with me and not respectful.
The codebase is kind of a disaster.

The way this company is managed is terrible. I knew a person who was working at a company that Shopify acquired. They switched from that company to Shopify and, less than a year later, Shopify sold this company, making this person switch companies again. This made it super hard to keep track of their tenure and tax documents.
Adding to that, another person who was impacted by that event was working at Shopify due to being fully remote. This was a necessity for her to take care of her kids and also to be able to buy a cheaper house away from the city.
Due to that part of Shopify being sold, she was "acquihired" by this other company. They were forcing her to relocate, as it was not going to be remote again, and she did not receive severance as "she was not laid off." Truly a disaster.
