Lots of chaos, but an innovative company

- Can be very chaotic.
- Many layoffs, even when things are going well.
Shopify is a great company to work for, if you are not looking for a stable workplace. The number of senior people at Shopify who have been there more than about three years is very small. Even so, during the one year I was there, there were two rounds of layoffs, and some of those people lost their jobs.
You create a great company with a great culture and do much to eliminate waste, but loyal employees are hard to come by. Creating more of an environment of stability might allow you to construct some of the things, like your Partner Platform, to be more stable and less segmented.
