Unprofessional. The name they have earned is being taken for granted by a few of their own employees. My excitement for an interview discussion with them turned into an utter disappointment. Before the interview was scheduled, I checked with HR (not taking names here) very clearly about the profile they were looking for.
On the interview day, I was asked questions outside of my profile. The interviewer and HR had no communication whatsoever regarding my profile. I called the HR after the interview to confirm the profile they were looking for, and he confirmed it was API Automation Testing. I told the HR I wasn't asked a single question related to API, its automation, or testing. When I gave him the name of the interviewer, he confirmed the interviewer was from the Development team (taking an interview for a Testing profile) as the one who was supposed to interview me was on leave.
Well, I guess they wasted my time and their own.
I am sure many of you may have had awesome experiences because a company as a whole cannot be at fault. But make sure to have a confirmation twice with HR before you go for an interview.
And if any of this happens, question the interviewer about the profile they are looking for. That's one thing I missed doing – I should have asked him right in the middle of the interview about his expectations and whether he knew the profile for which I had applied.
Nothing relevant to the profile I had applied for.
Have you worked on Cloud? Knowledge in XUnit? Knowledge in JUnit? Knowledge on other scripting languages? Have you worked on any documentation? How do you automate a scenario?
